BUILDING STRENGTH & COURAGE TO GO UPSIDE-DOWN
w/ Alexia Zbaraschuck
Sunday September 22nd; 1-2:30PM
Ever thought about trying a headstand? A forearm stand? Or handstand? But then didn’t, for fear of falling or looking silly? Whatever inversion level you are at, we invite you to join us! Alex will begin with a brief lecture on what an *inversion* really is and why we do them in yoga (Spoiler: it’s not to look cool on Instagram!) We’ll add movement to get warm, some drills to strengthen the body in preparation to go upside down, and then finally, some free time to experiment and play!
YOGA AT JACK’S PLACE
w/ Chad Segars
Sunday, September 29th; 12-2PM
(2736 Blue Mountain Road, Port Angeles)
Jack Barclay is one of our monthly members and he is graciously welcoming us to his home up Blue Mountain Road. We will practice yoga outdoors, amidst the beautiful surroundings… both occurring naturally, and what he has cultivated and nurtured on his property. Afterwards, Jack will give a walking tour, sharing the details of his immaculate and extremely unique gardens!
About the Gardens:
3 years ago, Jack Barclay began renovating the landscape around his house using all rare dwarf conifers. He’s planted 350 plants of about 150 varieties from all around the world. Some people think these dwarf conifers are like bonsai, which are trained to stay small, but they are quite different. These dwarf conifers were found growing as “witches’ brooms” on conifers growing in the wild or in nurseries and they keep their small size, slow growth rates, and unusual shapes and colors without any modifications.
